Common Errors in Survey

You don’t have to be a #Professional Data Analyst/Researcher to be able to carry out a “#simple survey”.

To carry out a “simple survey” you need to clearly know your objective(s), ie Why you want carry out the survey and you use that objective to derive your questions.

Whichever method you are using to collect your data, either with #google form, paper questionnaire, or survey monkey, etc, you should not make this mistakes.

I have had the opportunity to fill some questionnaires and I noticed some re-occurring mistakes.

1. LEADING QUESTIONS.
Leading question is when a research question is phrased in such a way that its already leading to the answer.

For example
Asking “Are Internet Fraudsters Bad?” (Yes/No).
The word “bad” is already giving a direction to the answer, which can make your respondent bias

This can be properly rephrased as “What is your perception of Internet Fraudsters?” (Good/Bad)

2.DOUBLE BARRELLED QUESTIONS:
This is when your question is too loaded,i.e combining two or more questions

For example:
Asking “Do you take Coffee and Coke?(Yes/No)

This will make your survey confusing & unreliable.

What common error do people make, share your thoughts?
